In this project, Willem shows how you can smartly and with great results transform existing furniture into a beautiful custom sideboard. With some creativity and custom-sawn pine carpentry panels, a beautiful, like-new piece of furniture has been created. The IVAR chests of drawers have been given a second life and will also be used as a chest of drawers.
Description by Willem
We could not find a dresser that was to our liking and functional as well. Can be used (temporarily) as a changing table. Our idea was to combine two chests of drawers from the IVAR and finish them with the wood from TOSIZE.fi into one piece of furniture.
How I made this project
We already had the cabinets and they were a bit yellowed. We sanded the chests of drawers (each 80.0 cm wide) and finished them with a white wash and then hard wax. We then put them together and measured the wood parts we needed from the webshop, ordered them and received them neatly, dimensions are quite precise due to... the overhang at the top and the miter at the bottom. Wood sawn, sanded and also coated with whitewash and hard wax, assembled (screws) and placed entirely on bronze-colored legs. We are very pleased with the end result.
